Student life

Studying at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne means becoming part of a university community of 45,000 students and having the opportunity to take part in a wide range of activities and projects. Although the university is first and foremost a place of study and work, your timetable will allow you to take part in the dynamic activities of thousands of students in search of culture, community life and sport.

Orientation

welcome daysEvery year leading up to the start of semester one in September and the start of the second semester in January, Welcome Days are held for incoming exchange students. These weeks are a chance for students to become better acquainted with the university.

During these events, participants have the opportunity to improve their skills in French as a foreign language (FLE). Students are grouped based on an online language placement test they take at the beginning of the Welcome Days.

At the start of the Welcome Days there is an introductory meeting at which representatives give information about various university associations and services, such as the International Relations Department, the sports services and the Student Life Service.

The Welcome Days finish with a cocktail reception which is a chance for exchange students to meet and get to know each other.

If you would like to participate in Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne’s Welcome Days then you must fill out an application form online that will be sent to you prior to your arrival as places are limited.
